Say Waawto culture.

“Waaw” means yes in Wolof. We say yes to rhythm, roots and each other — bringing Africa’s energy to Finland through unforgettable nights, community work and creative commerce.

Who we are

A cultural movement born between Dakar and Finland — turning music, dance and togetherness into moments people never forget.

From packed Afrobeat dance floors to open-air sessions in the pines, from school drum workshops to shared meals with children in Senegal — everything we do is about connection.

Our mission

To connect people through African culture — celebrating it, sharing it, and giving back to the communities where it began.

Feel it

“When the drum speaks, everyone understands.”

Sweat, smiles and the sound of the djembe — this is what a WaawAfrica night feels like. Turn it up.

Children share food together from bowls on the ground

Every plate shared is a story of hope.

Humanity & community

Culture that gives back.

The rhythm we share in Finland has its roots in communities in Senegal. Feeding children, supporting learning and simply showing up — that is the heartbeat of WaawAfrica.

Moments

Felt, not just seen.
